If your significant other will be joining you during your visit to Austin, you should encourage them to connect with Melody to take advantage of shopping, tours and other city highlights while you're in sessions all day. Spouses, be sure to check in at registration and ask for Melody. Together the spouses will determine what fun activities they'd like to take part in during the day. A number of activities are within walking distance or a very quick cab ride away (Average $5 one way to most destinations in and around downtown for a cab which seats 3). The hotel always has cabs available which are parked across the street from the Austin Hilton's Valet Drive.

Lady Bird Lake
Lady Bird Lake, which is only 4 blocks from the Austin Hilton , has a beautiful 10.1 mile hike-and-bike trail. There is also Kayak rental where you can rent a Kayak to take onto the water and check out the water trails. Fishing, hiking
Lady Bird Lake provides a tremendous recreational resource for the state’s capitol, including hike and bike trails surrounding the shoreline as well as paddling, rowing, and fishing in the lake.
