I am interested in attending the Government Fleet Expo & Conference, taking place June 17-19, 2019 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. As the largest public fleet event in the nation, targeting all levels of fleet operations (municipal, county, state and federal), the training offered at this conference will focus on strategies such as improving efficiency, budgeting, effective communication skills, using technologies to improve operations, and fleet greening.

The conference has outlined a number of training session topics, some of which I have listed below:

Fleet Foundations:

  • What New and Aspiring Fleet Managers Need to Know
  • Ask a Consultant
  •  Developing the Best Specifications for Vehicles and Equipment

Tech Solutions & Your Future Fleet

  • Talking Telematics: An Honest Conversation About Vehicle Tracking
  • How Fleets Can Boost Utilization with New Mobility Technologies
  • Fleet Automation & How It Affects You

Equipment & Operations:

  • When Should You Lease Vehicles?
  • Smart Fleets, Smart Cities: Fleet’s Growing Role in the Creation of Smart Cities
  • Electric Vehicles: When They Make Sense & How to Implement Them
  • I Didn’t Know It Could Do That: Maximizing Your Equipment’s Versatility Potential
  • How to Optimize Parts and Inventory Management with Consignment
  • Taking Back Fleet: Our Journey to Bringing Maintenance Back In-House

Motivating People:

  • Mentorship, Advancement, and Training: How to Retain Your Staff
  • Incentivizing Employees: How Baltimore Avoided $400K in Costs

The show has a large focus on sharing ideas with peers during formal networking time. I will be able to learn and get ideas from the leading fleets from across the nation. I believe the flow of information, training sessions and opportunities to meet one-on-one with field experts and colleagues will help us address some of our current challenges in new ways.

The Fleet Full Conference Pass includes 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and other hosted receptions. To keep us in budget, a special per diem hotel room rate is offered to attendees. I would need to move on this quickly so I can reserve a hotel room before they sell out.

The registration fee for a Fleet Full Conference Pass is $595, but I can save $100 by registering early, through May 16, 2019. Here’s an approximate breakdown of the investment:
Airfare: $[calculate cost of airfare]
Hotel: $[prevailing per diem rate, approx. $161/night + taxes and fees]
Transportation: $66 (round trip from airport to hotel)
Meals: $[calculate cost of 3 dinners, 1 breakfast and 1 lunch]  (2 breakfasts & 2 lunches are included in your pass price)
Registration Fee: $[$495 when you sign up through May 16]
TOTAL: $[insert total investment]

Please let me know if I can move ahead with attending this conference. Thank you.
