Fleet Management Department Director | Hillsborough County

Bob Stine was selected as the Hillsborough County's Fleet Management (Fleet) Department Director in January 2013.  He leads a team of 65 professionals responsible for life cycle asset management actions for over 3,400 vehicle and equipment items valued at approximately $186 million dollars.  His department supports Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners customers, several County Constitutional Offices, various non-County, and State of Florida governmental organizations who are responsible for a population of approximately 1.3 million people. 

Bob's internal service funded department provides customers: 1) asset management (acquisition, maintenance, and disposal), 2) Fuels Management, and 3) Policy Development services in a timely, cost effective, and quality manner.  He oversees an annual $22 million operating budget and $20 million acquisition budget.  His department was accredited by the American Public Works Association (APWA) in 2018.  Bob possesses Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt Certifications, an Airframe and Power Plant License, Certified Public Fleet Professional Certification from the APWA and a Certified Automotive Fleet Manager Certification from the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA).  Bob has earned three graduate level degrees and was awarded the NAFA Fleet Excellence Award for Leadership in 2016 and 2019.  

Bob honorably retired with the rank of Colonel from the United States Air Force (USAF) after a 30-year active duty career in 2012.  He served primarily in logistics positions with oversight of aircraft maintenance, munitions, supply, transportation, plans and policy.  His last active duty position was the Chief of the Mobility Division at US Central Command (USCENTCOM), MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.  In this position he led multimodal logistics operations in support of combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and the 21 nations in the USCENTCOM region
