Nate Hopper

Battalion Chief Nate Hopper is the logistics officer in charge of managing the fleet and facilities for the City of Trussville Fire and Rescue in Trussville Alabama. Chief Hopper started his career in 1998, being one of the first 6 firefighters hired by the City of Trussville. He spent 23 years rising through the ranks as a line firefighter and officer. Chief Hopper transitioned from the line to a staff position in 2020 to manage the growing department’s fleet and facilities. The department now has almost 80 uniformed personnel staffing 4 fire stations and a fire administration. Chief Hopper oversees a fleet of over 40 emergency response and support vehicles. He holds numerous fire service certifications, is a licensed paramedic, and has an associate’s degree in Fire Science and a bachelor’s degree in public safety and health administration.
