Bill Sterner attended Greater Johnstown Area Vocational Technical school in Johnstown Pennsylvania where he majored in Heavy Machinery Mechanics. After 3 years at Vo-Tech, Billy graduated in 1983 and went to work for the City of Fort Worth Texas, Equipment Services Department (ESD) as a Mechanic Trainee and later promoted to Off Road Mechanic, Senior Technician, Shop Crewleader, Supervisor, and Public Safety/Fleet Manager over the police fleet before retiring in July of 2019 with more than 35 years of service.

Billy also worked part time for a Ford dealer as an automatic transmission technician and during a short break in service from the City of Fort Worth, at a John Deere construction equipment dealer as an off-road equipment technician.

After retiring from the City of Fort Worth, Billy taught Automotive and Diesel Technology at Lincoln Technical Institute in Grand Prairie Texas before joining the Town of Flower Mound in October of 2020 as the Fleet Services Manager.

Bill and his beautiful wife Michelle just celebrated their 37th year of marriage in April of this year.
