Makela has over 20 years’ experience in operations, finance, and administration for non-profit, corporate, retail and government organizations. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Information Systems.

Makela is the new Fleet Manager for the City of Stockton, CA.  She was the Fleet Financial Analyst with San Joaquin County for the past 6 years and has increased operational efficiencies within the fleet by implementing sound auditing practices, establishing KPIs for improvement and coordinating training opportunities for staff. 

Makela’s significant contributions enabled San Joaquin County Fleet Services to place #3 in the Government Fleet Leading Fleets for 2021.

Makela is currently managing a fleet of approximately 950 assets including Utilities, Public Works, Fire and Police. 
She is looking forward to advancing the City of Stockton into the Electric Vehicle movement and beyond.
