Sgt. Jason Brake, MBA

Fleet Superintendent | City and County of Denver

Jason served in the US Army MP Corp from August 1985 to April 1992, both in the US ARMY and the COARNG, seeing service in Operation Desert Shield/Storm (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq). He had started his career with the Denver Police Department in November of 1990 but was called back to active duty for Desert Shield/Storm.

He has worked many different assignments in his 31+ years with DPD; Patrol, Neighborhood Police Officer, Training Officer, SCAT Team member, Assaults/Domestics Detective, UC Detective, and Training Detective until his promotion to Sergeant in 2003.  As a Sergeant with DPD he has held numerous jobs and was eventually chosen to lead the Denver Police Fleet Management Team in 2017.

As the Fleet Superintendent, Jason has successfully moved DPD toward a "Greener Fleet" with numerous options for patrol and admin vehicles that produce less waste and reduce unnecessary idling. He has expanded the fleet over the time he has been there and has worked to improve his technician’s experience/training to prepare them for the future of the automotive industry and the goals of the City and County of Denver.

He has also transitioned his Body Repair Shop to a water-based paint system, vastly reducing the number of harmful VOCs that his technicians are exposed to. Which in turn also reduced the amount of hazardous waste generated during collision repairs.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Colorado Denver and an MBA from Regis University.

In his spare time Jason is an Avid firearms enthusiast and former competitive shooter. He loves to spend time with his family and prepare for their impending retirements to a more Southern climate.
