Sgt. Tom Gorman

Chief of Staff - Office of Administrative Services | Connecticut State Police

Sgt. Gorman is a decorated member of the Connecticut State Police, having been with the agency since 2004. Prior to his law enforcement career, he was a Fixed Operations Director within the Automotive Industry for over 14 years. Sgt. Gorman was also involved in the Fire Services for over 13 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant, before leaving for a career in law enforcement.

Sgt. Gorman spent his first years at with the Connecticut State Police Assigned to Troop H barracks in downtown Hartford, then in 2013 he transferred to the Training academy becoming part of the Cadre teaching in the areas of Operating Under the Influence (OUI), Accident Investigation, and EVOC. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2016 where he transferred back to the “road” before returning to the Training Academy in 2017 as a supervisor for the EVOC unit.

Sgt Gorman currently holds the role as Chief of Staff to Lt Col Mark Davison within the Office of Administrative Services overseeing numerous areas on the business side of operations to include DESPP Fleet Services.

Sgt. Gorman was also a critical part of the implementation in Connecticut of the federally compliant MMUCC accident investigation form. Sgt. Gorman participated in the writing of the ANSI D16.1 Manual of Classification of Motor Vehicle Traffic Crashes, Eighth Edition.
